Rotary Nelson are proud to support ShelterBox
They instantly respond to earthquake, volcano, flood, hurricane, cyclone, tsunami or conflict by delivering boxes of aid.
Each box supplies an extended family of up to 10 people with a tent and lifesaving equipment to use while they are displaced or homeless. The contents are tailored depending on the nature and location of the disaster, with great care taken sourcing every item to ensure it is robust enough to be of lasting value.

Following the outstanding success of the Kakapo ‘Meet the Chicks event’ the Brook Waimarama Sanctuary has received a much needed momentum boost. We received a massive number of people putting their names down wanting to become volunteers. This, we realise means a doubling of our activities and we ask for a little patience while we gear up to facilitate this extra involvement. We hope that the numbers of volunteers will continue to grow and provide the community an opportunity to get involved in some practical way with conservation and those volunteers will continue to be the organisations backbone.

We recently had a visit from UNDP to celebrate the success of the water project which Nelson Rotary has been a big part of. Toilets came along slowly....but it did happen! We used some of Rotary's cement to pour cement slabs for the water taps. (photos enclosed) This makes a big difference when it comes to sanitation and just having a nice clean place to access water.
